James Ehlers April 20,1999 Vermont Outdoors Magazine Benoit Enterprises, Inc. and Wilderness Trading & Supply Company announce the release of the Remington 7600 Larry Benoit Limited Edition Commemorative Rifle Waterbury, VT - Benoit Enterprises of Waterbury, Vermont and the Wilderness Trading and Supply Company of Marshfield, VT announced the release of the Remington 7600 Larry Benoit Limited Edition Commemorative Rifle earlier this week. "This rifle is the culmination of over 60 years in the woods hunting the whitetail," the seventy-four year old American deer hunting legend Larry Benoit said. 'When I first started hunting, I never dreamed it would come to this. I am very happy to finally see the carbine come to life. Now I have something for all the folks who have been so supportive of my family and I over the years." The Remington 760( now the 7600) has been Larry's and his family's rifle of choice for many years. Its quick action and reliability in the nastiest of weather conditions makes it Larry's constant companion in the North Country deer woods. "It has never let me down. It is so quick and smooth. I love the way it talks. I and the boys would hunt with nothing else," says the native Vermonter who has toted the Remington pump across the swamps and ridge tops of Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire for 65 years. The Larry Benoit Commemorative will be featured in the .30-06 caliber in the classic carbine style. The rifle action sports a gold inlay of Benoit's largest deer head, his signature and the limited serial numbers. Only one thousand of these will be produced, and serial numbers will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. Orders are being taken now at a cost of $995 per rifle, plus tax where applicable. The co-author of several books, including the mid-seventies sensation with Peter Miller "How to Bag the Biggest Buck of Your Life," Benoit is renowned for his ability to track and take big bucks so much so that Sports Afield called him possibly the best deer hunter in America. He has shared his field experience in seminars throughout the Northeast, as well as two other books, the latest being "Big Bucks The Benoit Way". Benoit currently writes an exclusive monthly column for Vermont Outdoors Magazine. A photograph of the rifle is available upon request. The distribution of the rifle is being handled exclusively by Wildneress Trading & Supply Co. of Marshfield, Vermont.
